St John YOUTH
St. John United Methodist Church has a vibrant Youth Group, comprised of young people 6th – 12th grades. We meet Wednesday nights from 5:30 – 7:30pm in the Christian Activities Center. The St John Youth are active leaders in our church community. They are seeking to experience God in new and different ways every day. The scripture which guides our ministry is I Timothy 4:12 (niv):
“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
The S.W.A.T. teen is our middle school ministry. S.W.A.T. stands for Seeking Wisdom And Truth. All students, 6th – 8th grades are invited to engage in riveting bible study with fun interactive object lessons and dynamic video lessons. There are also opportunities for SWAT teens to participate in local missions and service projects.
Youth Sunday School Class meets every Sunday from 10:10 – 10:50am in the SWAT Room. DeAnna Prather is the class facilitator. Many spirited discussion about the Word of God are birthed from this group of young believers.
Open Gym is offered Wednesday of each week from 4:00 – 5:30pm. It is open to all youth. Come play basketball, board games or just hang out with friends. Homework help is available upon request. If the Hamilton County Schools are closed, the gym is also closed.
